March 14 was Wesley's 6th birthday, so we were up early and headed to Sanibel Island (just across a bridge from Estero Island). We hit up the light house beach for shelling and to see the lighthouse. We ended up seeing some dolphins swimming right by the beach.

We then headed to The Ding Darling National Wildlife Perserve. We hit the information center to get an idea of what to do then had lunch at The Island Cow before driving through the preserve.
We made lots of stops along the way but Norah got worn out and spent some time napping and she didn't seem to be feeling the best. It was also pretty hot that day.
We then decided to do some canoeing and kayaking but when I took Norah to the bathroom she got sick so after I cleaned that up abd her up and got her a drink, mom and I took Norah back while the rest kayaked.
Unfortunately, the traffic is terrible between islands unless it's early or late, so it took over an hour to get back to Estero Island.
Luckily, there was no more puking once she cooled down. She had been sick before we left Iowa so I don't know if that was lingering or? The drive across the bridge was gorgeous. It's pretty incredible to think about how much work and thought went into the bridges between islands.
I stopped for cupcakes and we headed back and relaxed. The other group hit the bridge at a better time so they actually weren't too far behind us.
We ordered pizza and had cupcakes before heading out to the beach.
