Tuesday, March 15

We were up early Tuesday for breakfast and planned to go on a kayak tour looking for manatees. Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled for fog. We did learn that the breakfast restaurant was slow that early in the morning so we had no problems getting through the omelette and waffle station. The breakfast was super good there. It was nice to have a good breakfast as the kids are both good eaters at breakfast so I was sure both started with lots of fruit so they eat at least some healthy food.

We decided to rent a pontoon boat for the day since the manatee tour was cancelled. We hoped we would see a manatee with that, but we did not. We did see lots of other wildlife though. We saw stingrays right as we left and then saw one pufferfish but it was quick so no pictures of that. We saw several Dolphins throughout the day.

We drove to a nearby key, Lovers Key and stopped for lunch. I can't remember the name of the restaurant but I had lobster Mac and cheese and it was awesome. I love seafood on the coast but rarely eat it in Iowa. Nick even had seafood a couple of times. I think the kids had fish sticks once or at least tried nicks fish and chips but they mostly stuck to grilled cheese and chicken nuggets. Sigh.

After lunch we went to a nearby beach for a while.
We boated around a bit more before heading back to the marina. We had some pool time and dinner at Nervous Nellies.
