3 Months

This super cute outfit above is from my aunt, Angie. Nick's sister, Emi, made the adorable headband.

Below are the pics I took for Norah's monthly frame. The second one just makes me laugh. :)

The above pictures were all taken yesterday, the day Norah turned 3 months old. My baby is growing so fast! In some ways, she is still very much a newborn, sleeping many many hours a day. In other ways, she is so different. She smiles and coos so much, and she started laughing in the last few days... such a sweet sound!

Bedtime for Norah is 9:30-10:30, and we are working on getting it closer to 9:30 over my winter break. It has gone pretty well with the exception of last night when her big brother was up and upset (yet another cold), so she couldn't go to sleep. She is a sympathy crier at daycare, too, so this wasn't surprising. She normally sleeps from bedtime until just after 6, but she does get up in the middle of the night once a week or so. She isn't swaddled at all anymore unless she gets super mad. We have been using sleep sacks to keep her warm at night and for any naps in her crib. If she is in the bassinet or Rock n Play and I am around, she gets a blanket on her. She started sleeping in the crib at night about 2 weeks ago. I won't lie, I miss her at night now that she is in her room!

She nurses 7-8 times when I am home with her. On days I work, she gets bottles for 2 or 3 of those feedings. She is still exclusively getting breast milk. I really don't like pumping at work, but I am dealing with it. I am building a little bit of a freezer stash, so hopefully I can cut to just pumping one time at work in March or so. I'd like to not have to deal with bottles over spring break, especially if we travel, so I am hoping to keep up on pumping at least that long. I plan to nurse her at least part time to a year or longer. Wes and I made it close to 16 months. Ideally, I'd get to 17 or 18 months with her at bedtime, to get her immunities through next year's cold and flu season, but we will see if she is interested that long and if I am not crazy before then!

I try to feed her over my lunch most days, but that doesn't always work. It's so nice to go see her and Wesley over lunch. She's happy to see me, and Wes is, too. If they are eating, he just says hi and bye to me. If they aren't, he normally sits by me and talks to me and shows me his favorite toys. He is one proud big brother!

She loves her gym. It's a hand-me-down from Wes that Amanda and family gave us. She will play in it at least 2 times a day when we are here all day, and at least once if she goes to daycare. She has one to play with at Jamie's, too. We didn't take it back to SW Iowa over Christmas, and we let her lay in it when we got home, and she played for almost an hour! She missed it! She barely stays up that long at a time normally, including eating, so for her to play so long was surprising!

She hates tummy time, so we do it in short spurts a few times a day. She isn't rolling over yet, so I need to get her to do more. She tolerates it best if Wes lays by her or someone shakes the rattle where she can see it. I think she hates it more than Wesley did, which I didn't think was possible!

One more pic if you made it this far!
