Dear Wesley,

Here we are with summer almost over. I go back to work in 2.5 weeks, and I am so not ready to go back to leaving you every day.

You are just getting over an ear infection, so I am glad that I have my happy little boy back this weekend. :) We are probably lucky you made it this long without one.

You are a champ at walking now. You are to the point that you prefer it over crawling: a day I never thought I would see. You seem to still crawl after falling or if you are being cautious. I was so ready for you to walk, and now I am sad you seem so grown up walking all over. Watching you grow is so bittersweet. I love that you are making progress but it's so sad that your babyhood is going so fast to me.

I love how you are so interested in every little thing.

I love that you cling to me when you are unsure (like when you went to the beach yesterday and you didn't know what to think about sand).

I love that when Dad gets up with you on the weekend, you get so excited when you see me come downstairs!

I love that you don't want to get in trouble. Sure, you like to do naughty things, like rip magazine pages, pull Sully's tail, or throw things on the floor, but you get so sad when you know I am not happy about something you do.

You can be sure that even though I am SO sad summer is ending, I will be making the best of these last few days! We are going to have so much fun! Promise! :)

Love,
Mom
