Well, my baby is almost a year and a half old. He is walking, walking, walking but has NO interest in talking, talking, talking!
I finally got him to sign for more, which is helpful. Now that he walks full time, we've had a lot more bumps and bruises. He currently has yet another black eye. None of them have been really bad yet, but shiners nonetheless. My mom also decided that he walks just like Nick and now everyone agrees, which makes me laugh.
This month he had his first ear infection... it was rough. He was all healed up at our follow-up though. I also still swear he's getting his top canines, but I have been saying that for weeks. He is a drooly mess, and his fingers are always in his mouth! For how, he just has the front four on top and bottom and 4 molars.
He's still wearing size 4 diapers, 12 month and 18 month clothing and a few 2t shirts.
He has typically been sleeping from 7-8, so I think we'll really try to have him in the crib by 645 of 7 at the latest when he has to be a daycare and hope for a 2 hour nap. He naps around 1 every day. One thing that has been hindering our sleep schedule is that he keeps getting his knee stuck between the crib slats, so Nick and I are currently trying to find a solution for that. The poor little guy has a nasty bruise on his right leg right now. :(
His favorite things to do include playing with his Little Zoomer's Race Track, playing with his Poke a Dot books, throwing things off the landing and down into the living room and being outside. We make frequent trips to the library and he's been to the zoo three times in the last month. He enjoys feeding the fish and the giraffes! He and I also made a trip to Reiman Gardens last week. He loved the children's garden! We have been making frequent trips to the pool, too.
He loves Teddy and Sully. Teddy loves him, too. Sully is good about tolerating his tail pulling. Wes has earned a special place in Sully's heart by learning to open the screen door to the backyard and let him out. Luckily, Sully has simmered down lately and no longer jumps the fence and escapes but is happy enough lounging under the bushes and the deck.
We are working on mastering the spoon and fork right now. It's going to be a long journey, but Wesley is making progress!
Wednesday, Wesley will be back to daycare, and I will be back to work, which, of course, makes me really sad. He has really become quite the mama's boy lately. We have a pretty tight bond, I must say.
