Fall 2017

Wes has had a great start to second grade. He loves Mrs. Swanson's class and has made lots of growth. We tried to start the year without ADHD meds to see how he'd do, but ultimately decided the meds really make a difference in his ability to focus. I am really glad he has had teachers who don't just see ADHD as the stereotypical hyperactive part since Wes is inattentive type. Concerta makes a big difference for him as far as focus, but he is still the goofy, sweet Wesley I love. He has made a smooth transition to Franklin, but I know he does miss his friends at Sacred Heart.

He played soccer again this fall, and again, he improved as the season went on. He enjoys it, so I am sure he will play again in the spring. He starts basketball this next week.

Wes had pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and missed most of the week of school. Luckily, he has recovered, but it took some time and several types of medicine. We learned that he is allergic to augmentin.

Norah is in preschool again. She has Mrs. Wellington. She really loves having her. I do still really wish that Norah was a few days older, so she could be in kindergarten this year, but there isn't anything I can do about that. I will be happy to have her in Boone next year, as it will just make things much simpler to be on the same schedule and for her to be able to ride with me to the HS to catch the bus.

Norah is dancing in Boone now, and the transition has been good. We really liked her other studio, but it is nice to have it in town. He dances at the winter festival this weekend.
