20 months

Wesley is 4 months away from being a two year old!

We are working on signing with Wes more and more, but, honestly, It can be a little frustrating at times. He consistently signs for more and I love you, and he waved bye and blows kisses too. His other "signs" aren't exactly helpful in the world of communication. I bought a Baby Einstein video to help, but of course, he refuses to watch it, along with all television.

He is making good progress in learning his body parts. Last month, I think he knew ear and tongue. Now, he can put his hand on his head, ear, nose, and belly. He sticks out his tongue on command, and gives me his hand to hold when I say, "hand."

I think his receptive language is growing by day, too. He is very good about getting his shoes on request, but he can identify other things, too. I think kitty/doggy are interchangeable when it comes to pics, but he knows the difference between Sully and Teddy. He knows what hats and socks are, too. He knows book but not a specific one. He knows about trucks and cars, too.

His ability to strip clothes is growing too. He's moved past socks, shoes, and diapers to zipper hoodies/coats and sweatpants that he can remove.

As far as growth, I think he feels heavier, but he's still wearing mostly 18 month clothes with some 24 month and 2T stuff thrown in there depending on the brand. Surprisingly, he has stopped fighting hats. I think he gets that to go outside, he has to wear one when it is cold, but he also brings his Santa hat to us to put on him inside, too. He even wore mittens to play outside this weekend, also.

Wesley LOVES to be outside, and when he wants to go he brings his shoes to me or Nick. Once they are on, he stands by the door or the coat rack.

His favorite books are ones with only a few words on each page so he can turn them or ones with flaps.  Not all flap books, just the three or so that we read over and over. He has others, but he likes Animal Sounds (By far his favorite of the three and my least favorite since I have read it so many times), Where's Baby's Belly Button, and Dear Zoo.
