We are getting so close to one! It's unbelievable but Norah's first year seems to be going by faster than Wesley's first year!
Norah is still a happy little girl. She loves to sit and play and reach and roll around. She is doing better about putting weight on her legs, but she isn't caught up yet. She has learned to love the jumperoo and I think it is helping! She actually tries to jump when I just hold her upright but then gets mad that it doesn't have the same effect. I hope to see some major improvement in the next month before her 1 year dr appt. I would like to see her crawling by then too. Norah is on her own schedule and it is making me a bit crazy. I thought I was more laid back with her because she is the second child, but I am starting to panic a little more about her gross motor delays... I really do think she is just content hanging out, but I wish she would make a little more progress. I guess that's what kids do... make their mamas worry.
Norah loves bath time. She is almost as bad as Wes about wanting to stay in forever! She loves the pool now too, and I hope to take the kids once more over Labor Day weekend.
She loves baby food but finger food is still not her favorite. She drinks from a straw cup now but prefers the bottle at Jamie's. She is nursing 4-5 times a day (5 when I see her at lunch but lots of short school days have made it impossible for me to get over there and nurse and come back). She gets a bottle 2-3 times a day and will NOT take one from me. Last weekend she just waiting patiently for Nick to return. Another indication of her stubbornness perhaps? She does a good job with bottles at daycare after 2 or 3 days of being a stubborn girl when I first went back to work for the school year 3 weeks ago.
I have been planning her first birthday. We will have a Minnie themed party at my parents' house. We are doing one big party instead of two for this one. I am fighting off a knee injury right now (ugh!), so I am hoping I am up to doing this by then. If not, I guess Nick will have to pick up the slack. He did make some invites, which I need to get sent out next week.
I scheduled her one year pics, too. I made her birthday dress with lots of help from my mom, and it turned out VERY cute, so I am excited for her to wear it. The fun things make it a little easier to accept the fact that my baby is almost 1.
