9 Months

Norah is 9 months old! We had her 9 month appointment on Friday, June 28. She was 16 lbs 12 oz and 28 inches long.  She is a half an inch taller than Wes was at this age, but about 2.5 lbs lighter. Of course, Wes loved solid food and was on some formula at this point.

Her weight is around the 30th percentile, her height around 60 and her head around the 90th. She only had to have one shot this time and wasn't nearly so grouchy as after the 6th month shots.

Her schedule is pretty great. She sleeps from shortly after 8 until 6-7. She takes a morning and afternoon nap. She is nursing 7 times a day and eats baby food or plays with table food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She loves fruit, is okay with veggie purees and still isn't loving table food. She likes to squish bread and will eat at least some Rice Krispies, Puffs, or Cheerios. We've tried food in the mesh feeder but she isn't amused.

Norah loves to sit and plan and is quite content in not moving. The last month or so I have been really working trying to get her to put some weight on her legs. Mostly she just pulls them up when I try. She is doing a little better, but we have a long way to go. Dr. Nau said to keep working with her (holding her legs locked and making her put weight on them, trying a jumperoo, trying to get her to get up on her hands and knees) and we will hopefully see more progress by a year. She needs to be pulling up by then and standing holding onto things and hopefully cruising along furniture by that point. If not, he will refer her to ChildServe. Three months is a long time though, so I hope we don't have to do that. I think she is just a very content baby who wants to do things on her own schedule. She didn't roll until she could do it perfectly, same with sitting. I think that is who she will be with standing, crawling, walking, too.

Her favorite toys now include Violet, the Incrediblock, the Block with busy beads from Seth and Tammy, and the AlphaZoo.
Above is Norah in Wesley's old shirt. Below is Norah and Cy. Wes was too scared of Cy.

Norah spends most of our time at the pool in my water ring sling carrier, but she is more willing to sit in the very shallow area or beside the pool. Isn't she cute?!

Norah is such a happy baby! I love her so much!

We are getting the Jumperoo today, so I hope that encourages her to use her legs a little more. She liked the exersaucer a lot but would just dangle and not turn herself around like Wes always did, so I was a mean mom and took it away.

I haven't gotten her 9 month sticker pics done yet. Of, I forgot to mention, Norah also started clapping on Friday. After her afternoon nap, she finished nursing and clapped three times. So cute. She's done it about once a day since. :)
