A year in Review - 2011

I meant to get to this sooner, but thought it'd be a fun post to read later, so here is 2011 in review.... even later since it took me three days to finish- pesky stomach flu!

In January, Wesley started real crawling and by the end of the month he was going FAST! He also perfected the art of pulling up. With his new mobility, the cat and dog learned they'd never be safe again.

In February, Wesley started to cruise. He also cheered on the Cyclones at many ISU BB games! Of course, cheering hard led to much-needed naps during the games.

In March, Wesley turned one: he celebrated with a vacation to Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, KS and A Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday.

In April, Wesley was excited the weather turned warm and he got to spend more time in his Wagon from Grandma and Grandpa.

In May, Wesley got better walking with the help of a toy and got to try out his backyard pool!

In June, Wesley took his first steps! He went on vacation with Mom and Dad to the Omaha Zoo and Children's Museum. His cousins also visited him for a trip to the pool, and he went camping for the first time. He said his first word, Touchdown! but wouldn't repeat it for several months. It was a busy, fun month!

In July, Wesley got to see fireworks for the first time, and visited to Blank Park Zoo with Dad while Mom had girl's weekend. He also got much better at walking and started to really transition to it as a way of transporation.

In August, Wesley visited the Science Center and spent many days at the Ames Aquatic Center.

In September, Wesley attended his aunt and uncle's wedding and tailgated/celebrated after the ISU- Iowa FB game.

In October, Wesley went to Center Grove Orchard and trick or treated for the first time.

In November, Wesley celebrated Thanksgiving in Southwest Iowa and watched the Cyclones beat Kansas, though he had to stay home for the historical win against OSU.

In December, Welsey celebrated Christmas, found his love of candy canes, and his language (sign, spoken, comprehension) grew noticeably. His favorite word is uh-oh, then wow. His favorite sign is more.
