4 months

Wesley turned 4 months old yesterday. Above are some pics from our monthly mommy-baby photo shoot. Another month has passed and again, I can't believe it. This whole month I was home with Wesley, and it went too fast.

In the past month....

...Wesley had his first cold. It really messed up his sleeping through the night, but he has been back to sleeping 9-10 hours a night the past several nights.

...Wesley has become a champ at fighting naps. He is not the good napper he used to be. Sometimes he'll take a 1-2 hour nap, but mostly he only naps 40 minutes, tops. Unless he's with Dad, then he naps much better. He is not a happy baby when he doesn't nap. If he is tired/overstimulated, he will let everyone in earshot know about it! We attempted deswaddling, but he was not ready. Wesley may really be swaddled in kindergarten like my mom jokes...

...Wesley was baptized at the Griswold UMC, where his mom and dad were married.

...Wesley has been wearing both 0-3 and 3-6 month clothing. He really hasn't outgrown much 0-3, but his 3-6 is more in season. Wesley is definitely a peanut.

...Wesley got a new swing from Grandma Billie, and he naps in it some days (like now as I write this post).

...Wesley has started laughing much more. He laughs most for Mommy, but he has also laughed for Daddy, Aunt Allyssa, Aunt Tammy, and Great Aunt Angie (did I miss anyone?). He has NOT laughed for Grandma Billie, much to her dismay!

...Wesley has started playing with toys more. He loves rattles. He has started playing with his Leap Frog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo Ball. He loves when others spin it for him, and he can move it some on his own. We also set up his My Puppy Pal Scout. He has mixed feelings. I think it's very cute, except it mispronounces his name (Wezley). He still plays in his play mat and bouncy seat. I put him in his exersauces the first time today. He's too short, so I had to put a couple of quilts under his feet. He stayed in it for about 5 minutes. He liked the toys, but he isn't quite strong/big enough.

...Wesley has a bedtime routine that we follow every night. Every other night this starts with a bath. Then, he gets pjs (or onesie) on and eats with his mommy. Then, we change his diaper and read 2-3 books. Daddy takes over then and swaddles Wesley and rocks him to the lullabys playing on the iPod dock. Bedtime is around 8-8:30. I'd like it to be more consistently at 8, so we are working on that.

Wesley's 4 month appointment is Monday afternoon, so I will update with pics and measurements next week!
