Here I was, impressed with myself for taking Norah's 8 Month Photo on the actual right day, but then she refused to cooperate. She didn't want her mom to get too confident!I realized I forgot to write Norah's 7 month update last week. At that point, it was too late. So lots has changed.
Norah is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes, but a few 3-6 and a few 9--12 (dresses mostly).
Norah can now roll back to belly, though she doesn't do it often. She did that for the first time May 16. She is now officially a sitter, too. She did one good try at it May 4, but didn't do it consistently until around the middle of the month. Now she can sit for minutes at a time, but she still won't if she is not in the mood!
She is still nursing 7 times a day (or 5 if she is at daycare with 2 bottles). I have tried to cut the last one (around 7:45- 8:15), but I can't get it done. Maybe once school is out! I really think she could use a little more night time sleep. She naps twice a day with an occasional late afternoon catnap thrown in there. She naps much better at daycare than if she is with me.
With only four days of pumping left until summer, I can confidently say we will make it. I don't particularly care for pumping but have kept it up and have a nice freezer stash (oh, so different from last time). I was dipping in for a few days, and I started to think I'd use most of my stash before school got out and we'd have to use formula in the fall as I just don't think I am willing to pump in August/September. Well, she backed off the bottles, so I think I may be able to avoid buying any formula. Wes started some formula around 7 months and obviously did fine, but I am thrilled to save the money and not have to worry about which formula to use and all that! I am actually considering keeping my first pump of the morning and donating some milk, but we will see how the first few weeks of summer go before I commit. Such a difference from last time and taking all those supplements to make enough milk! The first few weeks were still super hard with Norah, but I have a huge sense of relief with school being out Friday!
Norah's favorite foods are mostly fruits (pineapple/pear mixed, apples, or bananas), but she really likes the sweet potato/corn mix, too. She is on all stage 1 and stage 2 foods. I have tried Cheerios and Puffs, but she gags and makes herself puke. Yeah, that's right with Puffs.. the food that dissolves when wet. Sigh. At this point Wes was eating some table food. Yes, babies are not the same!
She is babbling more now, with her favorite sound being DADADA as of late.
She enjoys the exersaucer, the donut rings on the stacker, and the alphazoo.
Her tear duct issue seems to have resolved itself a couple of weeks ago. Seriously, I thought it was getting worse and I was having to wash her eyes several times a day and then they were just clear. She gets a little teary when eating sometimes, but nothing like before and no more ridiculously crusty eyes! Dr. Nau said it would likely fix itself before she turned 1, but I was starting to have my doubts!
She's still on medicine for reflux, and she will be for at least another month until her 9 month well check up next month.
Her brother is her favorite person. Her eyes light up for him, and he can easily get her to stop crying. It melts my heart. I am pretty sure she is starting to remember people more. She seems to know Allyssa and Jordan for sure.
She got to have her first train ride today (at the zoo). I am not sure she was as impressed as her brother, but his excitement made up for it!
I am feeling a little sad that she only has 4 more months of babydom! Where does the time go?
