We have swaddled Wesley at night since birth. We've had pretty good luck with Wesley sleeping minus a few rough patches. Well, Wednesday night, Wesley went to bed as usual, swaddled. Shortly after 10, I heard him up and SCREAMING. When I went into his room the poor babe was face in the mattress and mad. He had learned to roll from back to tummy while swaddled, which meant it was time to take the swaddle away. So, Wednesday night, we swaddled with one arm out for the rest of the night. He kept waking up. Thursday was much better. He fought us a while but eventually went down for the night and didn't wake up until 6 Friday morning. Friday night was back to terrible at least at the beginning but he did finally sleep 12-7. Saturday, he went down well and slept all night.
So... tonight, we just have his body swaddled both arms out. He took a few extra minutes to get down. I am counting on getting up with him at least a couple of times, but hoping he will do well! *Crosses fingers* I am trying to get rid of the swaddle blankets all together before he starts day care in 2 weeks. I am then going to tackle trying to get him to put himself to sleep at night and then for naps. I love rocking him, but I want him to be independent and want to be able to leave him with a sitter for night ISU FB games. As is, I can't imagine leaving him with anyone other than Nick for bedtime.
